World Cup was held in South Korea and Japan.           
I'm just going to explain a bit about South Korea's World Cup history, as I am Korean.
The first time Korea entered to the World Cup was when it was held in Switzerland. After that, we entered to 6 different World Cups, from when it was held in Mexico to 2006 in Germany. But in 2002, it was the first time that we could continue until the Semi-Final. I think the reason for this was because of the manager Guus Hiddink. The skill for him to teach football and to increase his players' strength and also the effort for our players granted the result of Semi-Final to everyone of Korea.
