A Hypertext Timeline of my
Life |
- Your timeline should be built in a web format using
Microsoft FrontPage. Remember your work will be assessed
by four members of your class.
|
- Your timeline should include 3 columns: one for each year of
your life, one for an event in each year of personal
importance and one for an event of wider international
importance. See Maddie's below:

|
- For each year of your life you should very briefly describe
an event that happened to you and an event of international
importance that also happened in that year. Usually your
parents will be able to help you out on this. To research for events of international importance
you might use:
|
- Choose three events from your life and create a new
page in your website for each. If possible you should have
images (photos, objects etc.) to illustrate each of these
pages. For each of the events you might like to consider
answering the following questions:
-
When did the event
happen?
-
How old were you?
-
What exactly
happened?
-
Can you describe
the details of the scene – what it looked like, any smells/sounds/colours
you remember?
-
Can you remember
any dialogue (conversation) from the time this happened?
-
Why do you think
that this memory sticks in your mind so much?
(Thanks to Miss Boughey of Weatherhead School for the use of her
questions http://www.schoolhistory.co.uk/year7links/history/whatis.pdf)
|
- At least three events of international importance
need to be linked to new pages that explain further the event
you have chosen. As well as describing the event carefully and
choosing a picture to illustrate it, you should also explain why
you think the event was so important.
|
- In total your website should have at least 7 pages. As a
final touch add a photograph of yourself as a thumbnail image
on your homepage.
|
- See the gallery from previous
years.
