When
she tried to pull her hair out of the machine, her hand became
caught and the skin and muscle were stripped to the bone.
But she is one of the lucky ones; she will work again.
Others are killed when the machine grabs them, crushing and
cutting them into pieces.
I am Dr
William Blizard, a medical doctor, working 20 years as a lecturer in
the Royal College of Surgeons. I
am against Child Labour… because it is cruel!
Not only are children killed or savagely maimed, but they
become physically deformed, because their soft bones come under too
much pressure in mills. Dust
causes severe lung problems: coughing
blood, asthma and black lung.
Now let me ask you a
question, if it were your child, would you still favour child labour?
