Worship

Cities in roman times were filled with many deities and gods to worship.  The most important was Jupiter, king of the Gods.  His temples, varying in size and form, were always the largest of the temples in the city. Juno Minerva is another example.

After came gods from conquered civilizations, local deities, and intergraded separate religions.  Temples were found dispersed through out cities although there was a concentration on importance near the forum.  Romans tolerated the worship of other gods from other cultures, along as attention was paid to roman gods.  Some Romans were known to look upon their leader as a god, however this was generally frowned on.

This is model reconstruction of the Temple of Peace in Rome.
