History

From what historians and archaeologists have concluded, Tolosa was originally settled by the Volges and Tectosages.  These people were of Celtic origin, and settled in what is now Vieille Toulouse, just outside the modern-day city.  The Romans most likely settled in Toulouse around the first century B.C.

This is a map of Toulouse from 1631.  The only relevant feature of this map is that is shows the ruins of a Roman aqueduct from Tolosa, which gave proof to historians of the existence of an aqueduct.
