IB Social Science - What are the Social Sciences?

 
Introductory Questions
  1. What is 'normal' social behaviour? Identify 5 examples of human behaviour that would be normal for all people in all circumstances. 
  2. What problems might you expect to encounter if you try to apply the methodology of the natural sciences (the scientific method) to the social sciences?
  3. Andrew Lipscombe. To what extent can the methodology of the social sciences by applied to the study of history? 
  4. How would you go about finding out as accurately as possible, the attitude of the elderly to the internet?
  5. What is IQ? How valid is it as a measure of what if claims to measure? Try an IQ test.
  6. Robin. If someone asked you 'where is the best place in the world to live?', after you said 'Cardiff', what measurable factors would you need to use as proof that Cardiff is the best place in the world to live?
