When Samuel died he
was
worried about his son taking over the mill because he was more interested
in making in a most up to date technology and maybe not so much about the
well fare of the workers or other aspects of the mill |

In the 1780's many factory workers lived in dreadful conditions. But
Samuel Greg was very concerned about the welfare of his workers. He built houses
for them on his land. he also brought an apprentice house for the children who
worked in the factory
The things that they had to go through in the mill
Were long hours
Were punishments
if they disobeyed the strict rules of working in a mill
The rubbish amount of food
they received
The terrible accidents
they had
