Euro unified currency in EU
Euro
began to be used as the unified currency in EU (European Union). Maastricht
contract was built up to unite to European currency. It began from the first day
of 1999. ECB (European Central Bank) decided to use the Euro, as Europe is the
only united continent in the world.
Euro is being used by twelve EU countries - Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain,
France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal and
Finland. They are stretched from Mediterranean to Artic Circle.
Also, from 1 January 2007, it will be the currency of Slovenia, as well.
