Before 1789 French people become restless because there is so much poverty and corruption in their country

14 July 1789 The Storming of the Bastille in Paris. 
4th August 1789 Noble deputies give up their feudal rights. Feudalism dies.
5th October 1789 The Women march to Versailles to stop the King crushing Paris.  
6th October 1789 King Louis XVI and his family travel to the Tuileries Palace in Paris. The Palace at Versailles is locked and boarded up.
21st June 1791 King Louis XVI and his family try to escape France. They are caught and taken back to Paris.
20th April 1792 France declares war on Austria. 
May 1792 Prussia joins forces with Austria.
20th June 1792 20 000 people break into the Tuileries Palace and shout abuse at Louis.
11th July 1792 The National Assembly declares that "The Fatherland is in Danger."
10th August 1792 The Storming of the Tuileries. 20 000 armed people march to the Tuileries Palace and ransack the place.
21st September 1792 Louis is no longer King. France becomes a Republic.
September 1792 Sans-Culottes break into the prisons of Paris and murdered 1 400 prisoners suspected of supporting the Austrians. 0O°--°O°--°O0
21st January 1793 Louis XVI is beheaded. 
February 1793 Many European monarchs join Prussia and Austria in the war against France. There are huge financial problems in France.
2nd June 1793 Sans-Culottes expel the leading Girondins. 
August 1793 The Convention orders a "Mass Levy" to all French citizens, ordering them to take some part in the war effort. 
September 1793 The Committee of Public Safety make every town draw up a "Law of Suspects", and introduces the "Law of the Maximum" to stop food prices increasing.
October 1793 Marie Antoinette, the former Queen, is executed.
June 1794 The French armies drive all their enemies out of France.   0O°--°O°--°O0
27th July 1794 Robespierre is executed.
After 27th July 1794 Five men called the Directors start to govern France. 0O°--°O°--°O0
1799 Napoleon begins his rise to power.  0O°--°O°--°O0
