On 15^th of August in 1945, the emperor of Japan read the capitulation text to Korean. Every Korean went out to celebrate this with white costumes and Korean flag in one had. Finally horrible days were passed and the day of liberation was come.

However unfortunate thing happened. During the days under the Japanese control, many of Korean patriots established a temporary Korean government in Shanghai secretly and trained soldiers. The government was planning to do a proclamation of war to Japan and invade Japan. But by the throwing down of atom bomb by USA, the war finished too early even before using the army of secret government. As the Korean government didn’t do a proclamation of war to Japan, Korean’s independence movement was ignored by UN. This led to wanting of trusteeship of USA, USSR and other big countries.

Just before of the submission of Japan, on 8^th of august in 1945, USSR did a proclamation of war to Japan and sent an army to Korea. After the Japan’s submission on 15^th of August, USSR held all the North Korean area around the end of August and started military administration.

USA wanted prevent USSR to occupy all Korean area, so they decided to not invade after 38 parallel line each other. Without any Korean people’s intension, Korea divided into two.

USA troops entered to South Korea after USSR occupied North Korea about a month later. On 7^th of September, general Macarthur proclaimed the military administration to South Korea. So during 3 years, USSR will put in operation of the military administration in North Korea and USA in South Korea.

Koreans had been against the trusteeship however the communist in North korea approved of. The celebration of liberation in 15^th of August in 1945 was too short. Again, Korea was divided into two and controlled by other control which led to the Korean War.

3) The Republic Korean government was established

During 3 years of trusteeship, USA asserted to make a unity Korea and do election. However USSR refused. In 1947 August, USA wanted makes decision if they’ll follow the decision made in 1945 December in Moscow conference. USA wanted has another conference with USA, USSR, Britain and China but by refusal of USSR, it didn’t happened.

Afterward, on 14^th of November in 1947, UN adopted the idea that all foreign army need to leave after the election in Korea, but USSR declared that she couldn’t follow the decision of UN. UN started to prepare the election in unity Korea but as USSR helped UN, so UN couldn’t get into the North Korea.

As UN had no choice, on 15^th of August in 1948, South Korea did election and the republic of Korea was established at that day even though there were much opposition like Kim gu about establishing the government without North Korea.

Under the control of Japan for 45 years, under USA for 3 years, in total, for 38 years Korea was under the foreign power. Finally the government was established even though it was without North Korea.

4) North Korean’s government was established

Just after the government of Republic of Korea was established, in North side on 9^th September, North Korean’s government was established. Kim il sung was the representative.

North Korea had more resources and factories, so they took an advantage of economics than South Korea. More than that, USSR promised to North Korea to supply about army so north Koreans had more power about army.
