The Power of the Medieval Church - Board Games 2004

(Above) Claire 'best board game 2004'

For this special summer holiday activity, students were asked to build board games that both entertained and educated. Each game had to illustrate the ways through which the medieval church controlled peoples' lives: sometimes the church helped and gave people hope; sometimes the church could be powerful and made people obey. The student games had to include a playing board, three sets of playing cards, counters and instructions with rules on how to play.

The first lesson of the new school year saw students playing each other's games and deciding on their favourites. Watch the  videos of the day.
