Guernica: A turning point in 20th century warfare

Forrest 83-87 is a series documents about the bombing of Guernica. As well as reading the sources and completing the questions on page 85,  make a series of detailed notes of his 'worked answer'. You should do this under the heading 'the nature of the war'.  His account offers good factual evidence of the brutal nature of the war including, but not exclusively focused on the bombing of Guernica. In addition you need to read and note Culpin and Henig (232 -Terror) and Farmer (189 - The Nature of the War). Farmer suggests there is still debate over who was responsible for the bombing of Guernica, yet in 1997 the German state apologized to the Basque people for the bombing of Guernica.
