Students have sat for external history exams since the year 2000,
our very first year of operation. Results have been consistently
better than international averages.

As the table below
illustrates, over the last four years students at the IST have done considerably better than their
contemporaries around the world. 98% of students have achieved an
A*-C grade at the IST compared to about 60% internationally. In
addition students are three times as likely to achieve the top A*
and A grades (IST 56%) than students studying elsewhere (19%).

Our results in 2006 were once again very pleasing. For the third
time in four years, all our students achieved a 'C' grade or
better.

IB History
Students have only been entered for IB History since 2002. In
that time 40 students have successfully completed the Diploma
programme, all attaining at least a grade '4' necessary for a pass
for Higher Level students.

with the international averages.

IB History

Since 2002, 22 IB historians have chosen to complete their
Extended Essay in History. The topics have ranged from studies of
the medieval Cathars to the cartoons of David Low. The results so
far have been very encouraging.
