British prime minister Neville
Chamberlain's policy of appeasement is perhaps one of the most
controversial subjects in modern world history. In the generation
after the Second World War, he was portrayed as the 'guilty man';
the man who failed to stand up to the dictators. But does he deserve
this reputation? IGCSE students are asked to prepare arguments for and against the
policy of appeasement and in particular the role of Chamberlain.
Then they have to make their case to the rest of the class, to the video
camera and through this website, to the rest of the world! (Back to activities) |
